Dear Miss Yekta,
Ba'd az salaam,
I have been benefitting from
Aineha every
now and then. It may be of interest to you that my translation of
Symphony of the Dead
has made it to some sort of "Top One-Hundred" among novels published
in Britain in 2007. It may make it to the "Top Twenty" if it gets
enough votes. With this e-mail, I am forwarding that of my
publishers. Disregard the first paragraph. At the end oo the second
(the relevant) paragraph, there is a link to a website where one can
vote for the book. I hope Aineha
will continue to be successful.
Ba ehteram,
Lotfali Khonji

Dear Lotfi,
Best wishes to you and Shadab for the new year.
Below is the email I sent you about Spread the Word.
Symphony has a
few comments, but the more the better.
Best regards
Richard
On another matter, regarding
Symphony, it
has been selected as one of 100 for a World Book Day programme
called 'Spread the Word'. The 100 are considered hidden gems and
book clubs and libraries are being encouraged to read these books
and vote on them. The 20 with the most votes by February will then
be put to a panel of judges. You can get more information at the
website address below, and please tell everyone you know to 'Spread
the Word' and take a look at
Symphony of the Dead and vote for it if
they feel so inclined.

Dear Richard,
I hope you and the rest of the family have had
a good Christmas and will have an exellent New Year. You remember
you informed me that Symphony
had made it to the Top One-hundred and that it might make it to the
Top Twenty if it gets enough votes. I have been forwarding your
e-mail (incorporating a website for voting) to a number of other
people. However, the e-mail is no longer accessible and I am too
ignorant of computer technology to retrieve it. The easiest way out
would be for you to transmit that e-mail to me once again. I believe
there is still some time left for voting. I hope
Symphony's
will be a success story despite problems.
With best wishes for 2008,
Lotfi
